I Speak In Tongues

There are moments in my life that I am blank.

I couldn't think or don't know what to do or say
about a certain issue or circumstance in my life.

I don't know how to deal a problem.

I am so helpless, that even if I pray I feel so defenseless.

I sought the Lord and asked if there is any way that I can do better than this?

Then He showed me how to speak in tongues.

At first, hearing other believers do it gave me a weird feeling.
But unconsciously, I know that it touched me somewhere because
now, I am so into it.

I speak in tongues when I walk. Hey! it's better than yoga or meditation, you know~

I speak in tongues when I'm pissed off and losing a lot of patience.

I speak in tongues when I don't know what to think or say. It's better than groaning.

I speak in tongues when I feel so stressed out about just anything.

Do you know why I keep doing that?

Because....

It calms me down.

It refreshes me even if I do it for just a few seconds.

Even as I'm typing this right now, I am speaking in tongues.

I know deep within, the Holy Spirit is doing the job for me.

Learn to let the Holy Spirit do the job for you.

"How The Holy Spirit Helps Us"

Romans 8:26
26Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

The Holy Spirit is not inside you to point out your faults or nag at you when you do wrong. God’s Word tells us that He is inside us to help us in our weaknesses. In areas where we are without strength, He is there to help us. When we don’t know what to pray, “the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered”.

Now, don’t read the verse and say, “Well, I don’t know what I should pray for, and since the Holy Spirit makes intercession for me, I will leave the praying to Him.”

If the Holy Spirit, without our participation, makes intercession for us, then every Christian would be living victorious lives automatically! But we know that there are many Christians who don’t seem to be walking in the fullness of God’s blessings. So obviously, Romans 8:26 is not saying that. What is it saying then?

In the first part of the verse, the word “helps” is sunantilambanomai in the original Greek text. It means “to take hold together against”. Now, “together” means that our participation is required. In other words, the Holy Spirit sunantilambanomai or takes hold together with us against the problem.

So if you just sit back and don’t take hold of the problem, the Holy Spirit has nothing to “take hold of” with you. If you don’t pray, He has nothing to pray. If you keep quiet, then even if He wants to pray through you, He can’t. But when you release your prayer in tongues, you are actually allowing Him to pray through you. And He will take hold together with you against the problem, and pray the perfect prayer through you because “He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God”. (Romans 8:27)

And you can be confident that when you ask anything according to the will of God, He hears you. And if you know that He hears you, whatever you ask, you know that you have the petitions that you have asked of Him! (1 John 5:14–15)

  1. I am Ryan from India and I just stumbled across your blog when I was looking for Pastor Prince's webcast.

I am so able to relate to your line of thought, especially your daily walk with God, how you relate to Jesus etc. I used to attend Pastor Prince's NCC when I worked in Singapore until last year and just like you, God used him to transform my life too! It was a liberation from the typical law/works set up that's sooooooo prevalent in India!

And, I am so blessed to find a like minded person, who goes through the daily routines of life applying the principles of grace and unconditional love! Great posts & I'm sure gonna visit your blog daily!

I am not sure if you know Andrew Wommack, another preacher of unconditional love & grace, you can search for him on the net and I am sure you will be blessed.

On a different note, I really want to speak in tongues and your latest post has got me interested. Can you give me a complete testimony of your baptism of the Holy Spirit experience? Have a blessed day!

Signing off with His Amazing Grace!

    Cheers
    Ryan

  2. Hi Ryan,
    Thanks for dropping by blog.
I am just smiling right now. :)
I know God is keeping His children together to nourish each other.
Like you I was liberated of my "fear" from God.It wasn't easy.
For years, I thought He is still mad at us for not keeping His law. I fully ignored what Jesus has done on the cross for nobody really ever told me so.
Only just 3years ago when I was forcefully invited by my colleague in NCC.

It was a long story, to keep it short.
Pastor Prince did change the way I think about God and the difference between having a relationship and religion.

The lost soul inside of me just kept seeking for the truth. And here I am..I found the TRUTH and now I'm so into His love..and soooo thankful for His Grace.

As for speaking in tongues, I cannot tell you much yet as I'm still on the learning stage.
My brother in NCC just told me to let my tongue mumble and just go with flow. At first you will sense nothin. But as you do it often, you will feel more relax even when you are so tensed and stressed out.
I have some sermons of Pastor Prince that talks about speaking in tongues. If you want I can send you. Just email me at dinxcarin@yahoo.com.

It's nice to know you here Ryan, my new friend from India. Aren't you coming back here in Singapore?

Shalom my friend and Grace to you..:)

  3. Oh great, that's exactly what I heard elsewhere too; to just let your tongue mumble trusting God that this is true in our spirits. It is a step of faith I reckon & I'm going to start like you've said!

Yes, I miss NCC badly! I had to resign my job in Singapore as my Work Permit couldn't be extended/granted as my company exceeded the quota for employing immigrants :(. Now, I am going to join a Bible college because this is where my heart is. As its said in Romans, "all things work together for good for those in Christ Jesus" & as Pastor Prince says when the devil throws lemon at me, God makes lemonade out of it! Haha! I will send you an email later, it would be great if you can send me a sermon on tongues.

Great to meet you Dinx, a fellow sister in Christ! How great is it to know that we'll be acquainted for all eternity! Thanks for your reply and have a blessed day filled with His Favour!

    Regards,
    Ryan
