It helps pray unspoken words or prayers to God.
If you don't know what to pray or how to say it, the Holy Spirit will do it for you.
If you have not tried it yet,
you will find it weird for the first time.
Do not worry.
it's normal. You just need to get used to it.
Just open your mouth and just let it to start speaking in unfamiliar languages.
What I do is something like this.
"Lord, something is scaring me and I don't know how to deal with it ....(then start to speak in tongues. )"
It is so refreshing and it takes all my fears and worries away.
Plus,
it edifies your soul.
The devil won't know what we are praying about.
Everytime you speak in tongues,
you scare the devil away.
So keep doing it.
