I have known this verse for quite a long time but it really never give a deep revelation on me.
Honestly, for years I really didn't know what Jesus is talking about on 'weariness'. and what His REST meant.
I thought to myself over and over again,
That if ever I get tired of work, relationhips , financial quest or just plain bored with what was going on with my life, I can deal with that myself.
I can take a vacation somewhere, watch a movie, chillout with friends, listen to good music, eat, and all the worldy activities you can think of.
But. . .
as years went by, doing and experiencing the same things all over again as if it will never come to an end made me sick!
I felt strongly in my heart that I was not meant to be
in that situation for long but through it all, stubborn as I was, I forgot this verse and with all my might and power have dealt with life on my own.
Years passed by and frustrations, depressions, heartaches, disappointments sucked the life out of me.
Heyyyy! This isn't me!
and then trying to play smart with life
I start to look for answers.
Suddenly, this verse caught up with me again.
Hey! That's the ' weariness' Jesus is talking about on this scripture!!
Yeah. I got tired.
I got tired of fears, sickness and boredom
and all the redundancy of life has to offer.
While I was on the end of my rope.
I finally gave up.
And have let go.
I looked up and said,
"Hey Jesus, if you are for real then take over!
I want to rest on You.
Cast my fears away on You.
That's your job now.
You see,
I am tired of worrying about this and that.
It's a never ending feat !!
So it's all yours now.
I just wana enjoy life like a child! Carefree and all!
No buts and ifs!
Pleeeease!'
(Forward to present time.)
Well, here I am.
I don't know how the Lord does it but I'm having fun. :)
Whether I'm stressed at work, no $$$$ in my bank account but still, I'm having so much fun.
Do I have problems?
Of course, I still do. A lot of it I guess but
it's not my call now.
It's Jesus!
Are you tired of something that's sucking the
Life out of you?
Try what I did. You'll see!
