Carrot, Egg and Coffee ,,,,
A carrot, an egg, and a cup of
coffee...you will never look at a cup of
coffee the same way again.
A young woman went to her mother and
told her about her life and how things
were so hard for her. She did not know
how she was going to make it and wanted
to give up. She was tired of fighting
and struggling. It seemed as one problem
was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She
filled three pots with water and placed
each on a high fire. Soon the pots came
to boil. In the first she placed
carrots, in the second she placed eggs,
and in the last she placed ground coffee
beans. She let them sit and boil,
without saying a word. In about twenty
minutes she turned off the burners. She
fished
the carrots out and placed them in a
bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed
them in a bowl. Then she ladled the
coffee out and placed it in a bowl.
Turning to her daughter, she asked,
"Tell me what you see."
"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked
her to feel the carrots. She did and
noted that they were soft. The mother
then asked the daughter to take an egg
and break it. After pulling off the
shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter
to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled
as she tasted its rich aroma. The
daughter then asked, "What does it mean,
mother?"
Her mother explained that each of these
objects had faced the same adversity:
boiling water. Each reacted differently.
The carrot went in strong, hard, and
unrelenting. However, after being
subjected to the boiling water, it
softened and became weak. The egg had
been fragile. Its thin outer shell had
protected its liquid interior, but after
sitting in the boiling water, its inside
became hardened. The ground coffee beans
were unique, however. After they were
in the boiling water, they had changed
the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter.
"When adversity knocks on your door, how
do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg
or a coffee bean?
Think of this: Which am I?
Am I the carrot that seems strong, but
with pain and adversity do I wilt and
become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a
malleable heart, but changes with the
heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but
after a death, a breakup, a financial
hardship or some other trial, have I
become hardened and stiff? Does my shell
look the same, but on the inside am I
bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and
hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean
actually changes the hot water, the very
circumstance that brings the pain. When
the water gets hot, it releases the
fragrance and flavor.
If you are like the bean, when things
are at their worst, you get better and
change the situation around you. When
the hour is the darkest and trials are
their greatest, do you elevate yourself
to another level?
How do you handle adversity? Are you a
carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
May you have enough happiness to make
you sweet, enough trials to make you
strong, enough sorrow to keep you human
and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily
have the best of everything; they just
make the most of everything that comes
along their way.
The brightest future will always be
based on a forgotten past; you can't go
forward in life until you let go of your
past failures and heartaches.
~~~~~~~~*~~~ ~~~~~
You might want to send this message to
those people who mean something to you
(I JUST DID);
to those who have touched your life in
one way or another;
to those who make you smile when you
really need it;
to those who make you see the brighter
side of things when you are really down.
To those whose friendship you appreciate;
to those who are so meaningful in your
life.
If you don't send it, you will just miss
out on the opportunity
to brighten someone's day with this message!
It's easier to build a child than repair
an adult.
This is so true - may we all be COFFEE,
AM break.
Facts Change But God’s Word Remains
Facts Change But God’s Word Remains
John 8:32
32And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Consider the cold, hard facts that these three people faced: The aunt of a lady in our church saw her X-ray which showed that one of her two kidneys was cancerous. A couple in our church read their medical reports which said that they would never be able to produce a child. A lady in our church who acted as a guarantor ended up being asked by the finance company to pay it S$34 million.
When such situations hit us and we allow the facts to settle in our hearts, we end up feeling greatly troubled. But when we let the truths of God’s Word settle them all, we will sense the Holy Spirit bearing witness to the truths that we are believing. He is the Spirit of truth. (John 16:13) He is not the Spirit of facts and does not bear witness to facts.
It may be a fact that you are sick. The doctors say that you are sick. The X-ray film shows that you are sick. But God’s Word says that by Jesus’ stripes you are healed! (Isaiah 53:5) That is the truth about your situation. What is the difference between fact and truth? Facts change, but truth — God’s Word — remains!
When God’s people choose to defy the facts and walk instead in His truths regarding their situations, the Holy Spirit in them will bear witness to the truths that they are believing.
The lady with the cancerous kidney underwent an operation to remove the organ. But praise God, she received supernatural restoration as later X-rays showed two healthy kidneys instead of one! God had formed a new kidney for her!
The childless couple received their miracle bundle of joy after seven years. Today, they are proud parents of not one, but four children!
The church member with the S$34 million debt told the finance company that it was not being fair to her and that God would protect her. The company’s management miraculously decided to cancel her debt!
The next time you are hit by disturbing facts, let God’s Word settle the truth about your situation. And as the Holy Spirit bears witness to the truths that you are believing, the facts will change and you will receive your miracle!
"Beautiful" by Kari Jobe with lyrics
Here before Your alter
I am letting go of all I've held
Of every motive, every burden
Everything that's of myself
And I just wanna wait on You, my God
I just wanna dwell on who You are
Beautiful, beautiful
Oh, I am lost for more to say
Beautiful, beautiful
Oh Lord You're beautiful to me
Here in Your presence
I am not afraid of brokenness
To wash Your feet with humble tears
I would be poured out till nothing's left
And I just wanna wait on You, my God
I just wanna dwell on who You are
Beautiful, beautiful
Oh, I am lost for more to say
Beautiful, beautiful
Oh Lord You're beautiful to me
Beautiful
You're beautiful, oh You're beautiful
Beautiful, beautiful
Holy, holy, holy You are, You are
Holy, holy, holy You are, You are
Holy, holy, holy You are, You are
Holy, holy, holy You are, You are
Beautiful, beautiful
Oh, I am lost for more to say
Beautiful, beautiful
Oh Lord You're beautiful to me
You're beautiful
Beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful
"You Are For Me" by Kari Jobe with lyrics
So faithful
So constant
So loving and so true
So powerful in all you do
You fill me
You see me
You know my every move
You love for me to sing to you
I know that you are for me
I know that you are for me
I know that you will never forsake me in my weakness
I know that you have come down
Even if to write upon my heart
To remind me who you are
So patient
So gracious
So merciful and true
So wonderful in all you do
You fill me
You see me
You know my every move
You love for me to sing to you
I know that you are for me
I know that you are for me
I know that you will never forsake me in my weakness
I know that you have come down
Even if to write upon my heart
To remind me that
I know that you are for me
I know that you are for me
I know that you will never forsake me in my weakness
I know that you have come down
Even if to write upon my heart
To remind me who you are
Want to share this with you. ..
A good friend of mine from South Africa have shared this with me.
I find the words in here are powerful and have helped me in my faith so now I'm sharing this to you.
It's quite long so may I request that you read or pray this at your most comfortable time. Maybe just before dozing off.
No hurry or stress.
Just take your time and enjoy
His presence while you commune with Him.
Shalom....
-Training-Wheel Prayer
for Ministry-
Lord, I am so grateful that you have saved me, are healing me and teaching me how to walk in the Spirit, and that you are going to use me in the manner for which you created me. I bind my body, soul, and spirit to your will and purposes for my life. I bind my mind to the mind of Christ, I bind my will to your will, and I bind m emotions to the control of the Holy Spirit.
I bind my feet to the paths that you have ordained for me to walk: to the mountains and to the valleys, to the dark alley ways and to the bright streets. I loose all preconceived ideas and patterns of thinking that I have ever had about “my ministry, or about other’s ministries that I have either coveted or not understood. I surrender all my dreams,, visions, plans, and preparations to your will. I loose any wrong attitudes, motives, or desires that my soul is holding on to. I loose all of the offence’s I’ve ever held on to, all of the unforgiveness, all of the hurt feelings from when I felt I was being overlooked.
Lord, I want my one desire for ministry to be that your will is always able accomplished in and prospered through my life. I know that I need to be a clean, empty vessel in order for that to happen. I want to be emptied out of all of the things of this world, of my old nature, of man’ ways and plans, of preconceived ideas, of religious and doctrinal mind-sets I have allowed to form in my soul. I don’t want to leak out any ungodly mixture into my ministry, only a flowing forth of the anointing of your Holy Spirit.
Let the fruit of your Holy Spirit fill me as I loose and strip away the old grave clothes of my soul. I want show forth the unique characteristics you have formed in me, but I don’t want any attitude to frame them except love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. You Word says that those who belong to Christ will be able to manifest these fruits of the Spirit, because they have crucified their sinful nature with its old passions and desires. Lord, I loose the control and power of my old nature –my unsurrendered soul—and I loose all wrong desires and passions from my unsurrendered will.
Let me minister your love to those I come in contact with every day. Let me remember that love never fails, it is always patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, nor is it proud. Love is never rude or self-seeking, not easily angered. Lord, above all else, teach me to remember that love keeps no record of wrongs and offences. I loose, crucify, server, and strip away my soul’s desire t keep files and accounts on others who have rubbed me the wrong way.
Show me how to desire only to protect others in their struggles, instead of wanting to expose their faults. I know your Holy Spirit in me can always protect me, so I can offer non-judgemental trust to all. Let me remember to always keep giving out your love to the world, showing them how you have changed my life.
Father, keep turning up the heat of your refining fire to get all dross out of me. I want to be as pure as the finest gold that is nearly transparent. Only then will others see just Jesus in every act of ministry that I manifest. I bind myself to the paths you have ordained for me to walk, to your timing, as well as to the paths, places, doors, divine appointments, and assignments you have purposed for me. In Jesus name, Amen!
