Thank Your Way To Greater Blessings

Luke 17:15

15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God,

People who have a grateful heart are always praising God. You often hear them say, “God is good!” They know that God is the reason for every blessing they get.

But there are those who look to God for blessings and when they get blessed, they just go on their merry way. Their hearts are captivated by the blessings instead of the One who has blessed them.

Jesus had an encounter with both these types of people when He walked into a village one day. Ten lepers cried out to Him, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” (Luke 17:13) Now, when you call out to Jesus for mercy, He always hears you. On another occasion, when two blind men cried out to Him, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” He took the time to give them their miracles. (Matthew 9:27–30)

So these 10 lepers cried out to Him for mercy. He stopped, looked at them and said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And “as they went, they were cleansed”. (Luke 17:14) But only one came back and fell at Jesus’ feet, giving Him thanks. Notice the very sad words of Jesus that followed: “Were there not 10 cleansed? But where are the nine?” (Luke 17:17)

The other nine obviously knew that it was Jesus who had cleansed them. Yet, they did not bother to go back and thank Him. My friend, let it be said of you that when the blessings come, you remember to give God the praise, glory and honour, and acknowledge that He is the source of every blessing in your life.

Do you know that when the man came back to thank Jesus, he received the additional blessing of becoming whole? Jesus said to him, “Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.” (Luke 17:19, KJV) He was not just cleansed of leprosy, he got his missing fingers and toes back!

My friend, when your heart is thankful toward God, you position yourself for even greater blessings!

We’ll pile into the van and head there to watch the sun come down over the Pacific, usually with some In N Out or ice cream in hand. It’s always a beautiful time together. I recorded Hymn Of Heaven (Acoustic Sessions) with that exact scene in mind. I actually have a photo of my kids at our “sunset spot” and throughout the project, I kept coming back to that photo. Of all the beautiful things Jesus is recorded as saying in the 4 Gospels, His direct commands are so easily overlooked. So here they are! In canon order. From all four gospels, (and Acts from the resurrected Jesus). I hope you love them. I did not include 'implied commands', like the ones beginning "If you...", or the ones that begin "whoever does this or does that will be..." as they are more like promises than commands. I tried to include only those things Jesus said that are unambiguous commands: "do this; don't do that". However, "peace be with you" is included as I could not tell if it was a blessing or a command. Maybe it is both? Also, where Jesus quoted OT scripture or rebuked Satan is not included as He starts with "you have heard it said..." Nonetheless, these are the commands of Jesus. 234 of them. In Jesus's own words. In the 4 Gospels of the Holy Bible are over 230 commands that Jesus gave on how to live; how to be made whole; how to know better the kingdom of heaven; how to receive God’s Holy Spirit; how to do God’s work in life; and how to become reconciled with God. Throughout the 4 gospels many are repeated. In 2 of the Gospels you will find Jesus's own words on what is referred to as "The Great Commission" ( 33:24 and 49:13 ) ("go into all the world..."). Jesus's Greatest Commandment in the gospel of John; instructions on receiving the Holy Spirit / Holy Ghost in the synoptic gospels (1:22:49); implorings to follow Jesus; and all the commands in the gospel of the Holy Bible in the words of Jesus. Only commands of Jesus are included in this video (and the pdf), except those such as Jesus’s instruction to the Samaritan woman at the well to ‘give me a drink’ (John 4-7). Apart from these, I have endeavoured to make the list complete. Implied commands, scriptural-promises and 'if' statements are not included as they are not strictly commands, even though many can be seen as implying instruction. You see, I am so blessed to have Joseph Prince as my pastor here in Singapore.

Before I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior,

my life was a total mess, no direction at all, was sickly, migraines, weak,

headaches, body aches, stomach problems, boring  etc.

Those things have prevented me from enjoying life and prompted me to

question God about my purpose,

You see, if you are not satisfied with what's going on with your life right now.

You can just talk to God about it and He will definitely lead and show you the way.

All you need to do is ASK.

That's what I did.

And then fast forward today,  here I am...still here. Super alive and kicking!

(I am 50years old now, by the way)

This blog has been here for more than a decade now.

Amazing right? Thank You Jesus!

I can say God has showed me all the answers about life and my purpose here on this earth.

I am now living what Jesus said in the Bible, "an abundant life!" 

and let me add..."A diseas,sick-free life!"

My migraine is gone!

And now I am back blogging all the way for Jesus!

" “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?  If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

ABUNDANT LIFE in the Bible means a HEALTHY, SICK-FREE LIFE~!

Seek first the kingdom of God...and ALL THESE THINGS will be added unto you.

When you are healthy, that's the time you get to enjoy your wealth!
