The world around you is a mess. Crime, wars, drugs—there’s bad news every time you turn on the television. And sometimes that mess invades your day. A friend betrays you, something is stolen out of your locker, or someone you know is hurt. But what is happening around you doesn’t have to shake you up.

Trust Me—even in the midst of a messy day. When you start to feel stressed, stop focusing on the problems. Instead, reach out to Me. Let Me show you things from My point of view. Remember that My Peace—the Peace that I give you—isn’t affected by the mess of this world.

Don’t be afraid and don’t be troubled. Seek My Face, and I will lift you up above the mess.

The devil is like a playground bully. He likes to push around those who are feeling weak. He will shove you with a lie, telling you that you’re not good enough. He’ll attack you with your secret fears, and kick you when you’re down.

When you start to feel lonely or afraid or worthless, call out My Name. Tell Me you trust Me. Speak out loud, if you are in a place where you can do that. If not, even a whisper will do. The devil will know that you are not alone—that I am by your side, fighting for you. And then, like the cowardly bully that he is, he will run away.

Chase him away with songs and prayers of praise. Strengthen yourself with My promises—I am always with you; you can do all things with My help; you are My own special creation. Stay close to Me, because the devil will be back—and together we will chase him away again.

The One Who Heals

I am a God who heals. I heal hurt bodies, troubled minds, aching hearts, messed-up lives, and difficult relationships.

When you come into My Presence, the healing begins. Whether you ask for it or not, My Spirit goes to work in your life. But when you come to Me in prayer and ask for My healing, amazing things can happen. Remember that I am a God who can do awesome things! Nothing is too difficult for me.

I don’t heal all the hurts and troubles in a person’s life. Why? Because it is those very problems that keep you close to Me. They are the things that help you grow—teaching you to depend on Me more and more. Even My servant Paul was told, “My grace is enough for you,” when he asked to be healed.

While I may not take away every hurt, I will always give you what you need to live joyfully—in spite of the hurts. Just ask.

I know how very much you need Me. I can read your thoughts, and I see how empty they are when they wander away from Me. Come to Me. I will give you rest for your soul, and I will refresh your mind and body.

As you learn to find your joy in Me, the joys of this world—video games, computers, and cell phones—seem less important. Knowing Me—truly knowing Me—is like having a fountain of Joy within you. This fountain flows from Me all the time, so My Joy can be with you even when you’re facing problems.

Spending time in My Presence keeps you connected to Me. While you wait with Me, I show you all that I have to offer. If you feel empty or distant from Me, simply bring your attention back to Me. This will keep you close to Me throughout the moments of your life.

Expect troubles—they are just part of living in this world. Stop trying to figure out a way to avoid every problem. An easy life is not the answer. An easy life tricks you into forgetting that you need Me. But everyone needs Me. When you come to Me for help—when you depend on Me—I give you the power to live above your problems.

But don’t just expect troubles; expect the impossible too. There will be times when you have no idea what to do, when you can’t possibly handle the situation you’re facing. Don’t try to run away from this situation. It’s actually the best place to find Me in all My Power and Glory.

When you see armies of problems marching toward you, cry out to Me! Let Me fight for you. And watch Me work for you, as you rest in the shadow of My Almighty Presence.
